Belanda - Robot Theo bekerja siang dan malam di ladang tulip Belanda. Robot itu menjadi senjata berteknologi tinggi baru dalam upaya membasmi penyakit di ladang tulip.

Robot kotak ini adalah senjata berteknologi tinggi baru dalam upaya membasmi penyakit dari ladang umbi saat tanaman tersebut meledak menjadi warna-warni musim semi.

Pada suatu pagi musim semi yang berangin, robot tersebut berjalan di sepanjang barisan tulip 'goudstuk' kuning dan merah, memeriksa setiap tanaman dan, bila perlu, membunuh umbi yang sakit untuk mencegah penyebaran virus pemecah tulip. Umbi yang mati dikeluarkan dari umbi yang sehat di gudang penyortiran setelah dipanen.

Virus ini menghambat pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman sehingga menyebabkan bunga menjadi lebih kecil dan lemah. Hal ini juga melemahkan umbi itu sendiri, sehingga akhirnya membuat umbi tidak dapat berbunga.

Sebagai bagian dari upaya untuk mengatasi virus ini, ada 45 robot yang berpatroli di ladang tulip di seluruh Belanda saat cuaca memanas dan para petani mendekati musim puncak ketika umbi mereka mekar menjadi beraneka warna yang menarik wisatawan dari seluruh dunia.

Diketahui harga robot tersebut cukup fantastis yaitu 185.000 euro (US$ 200.000) atau sekitar lebih dari tiga miliar rupiah.
