Daftar Nominasi The Game Awards 2024, Ada Black Myth: Wukong dan Astro Bot

The Game Awards 2024 akan segera digelar. Berikut daftar game yang masuk nominasi.

Pendiri sekaligus pembawa acara The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley, mengungkapkan kalau ajang penghargaan ini akan diselenggarakan di Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat pada 12 Desember 2024. Meski begitu gamer masih bisa menyaksikannya secara online di kanal YouTube The Game Awards.

Keighly menyampaikan, walaupun baru dihelat bulan depan, orang-orang sudah bisa memberikan vote-nya dari sekarang. Dirinya menjelaskan setidaknya ada 29 kategori yang tersedia. Jumlah tersebut berkurang dari tahun lalu sebanyak 31 kategori.

Namun ada pemandangan menarik yang terjadi di sini. Untuk nominasi Game of the Year memang diisi oleh sederet game yang berkualitas. Kendati demikian, satu game berjudul Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree memicu perdebatan di kalangan penggemar.

Lantaran Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree merupakan konten tambahan (DLC) dari base game-nya, yakni Elden Ring. Tidak sedikit dari gamer yang meminta nominasi di kategori tersebut kembali dipertimbangkan.

Cuma memang bila mengacu kriteria resmi The Game Awards hal itu tak menjadi masalah. Mereka menyatakan akan memberikan pengakuan terhadap karya kreatif studio game, terlepas dari format yang dirilis. Jadi format game seperti new season, DLC, remake, dan remaster memenuhi syarat dalam semua kategori, dilansir detikINET dari IGN, Selasa (19/11/2024).

Kejutan lainnya ialah Astro Bot dan Final Fantasy VII Rebirth mendominasi acara tahun ini. Sebab mereka hadir di tujuh kategori, lalu pesaingnya Metaphor menyusul dengan enam nominasi.
