India - Desa leluhur astronaut Suni Williams di India merayakan kepulangannya dari luar angkasa. Warga merayakannya dengan tarian dan kembang api.

Penduduk setempat dari desa leluhur astronaut NASA Sunita 'Suni' Williams di India merayakan kepulangannya dengan selamat ke bumi, pada dini hari Rabu (19/3) pagi dengan tarian dan kembang api.

Williams kembali ke Bumi dalam kapsul SpaceX dengan pendaratan lembut di lepas pantai Florida pada Selasa (18/3) sekitar pukul 5:57 sore waktu setempat (2157 GMT), sembilan bulan setelah pesawat Boeing Starliner mereka yang rusak menabrak apa yang seharusnya menjadi tempat tinggal selama seminggu di Stasiun Luar Angkasa Internasional.

Penduduk desa Jhulasan, yang terletak di distrik Mahesana di negara bagian Gujarat di India barat, berkerumun di samping televisi saat mereka menonton siaran langsung kepulangannya ke bumi, sebelum merayakannya.

Beberapa penduduk mengatakan pesta sedang dipersiapkan di kemudian hari untuk melanjutkan perayaan.

“Kami akan merayakan kembalinya dia ke bumi seperti Diwali (festival cahaya India)”, kata penduduk setempat, Sumit Patel.
