Jepang - Badan antariksa Jepang mengumumkan keberhasilan peluncuran roket H3 terbaru. Ini merupakan percobaan kedua setelah upaya peluncuran sebelumnya gagal.

Badan antariksa Jepang pada Sabtu (17/2) meluncurkan model uji kedua roket andalan barunya H3, hampir satu tahun setelah roket pertama gagal karena masalah pengapian mesin.

Badan Eksplorasi Dirgantara Jepang (JAXA) dan kontraktor utama Mitsubishi Heavy Industries merencanakan H3 untuk menggantikan roket H-IIA yang telah berumur dua dekade, dengan harapan bahwa biaya yang lebih rendah dan kapasitas muatan yang lebih besar akan membantu mereka memenangkan pesanan peluncuran dari klien global.

Roket tersebut akan terbang selama sekitar dua jam dan kemudian melepaskan dua satelit mikro dan massa tiruan yang mensimulasikan muatan satelit.

Peluncuran roket andalan generasi berikutnya yang sukses akan mengikuti pendaratan bersejarah pesawat ruang angkasa SLIM Jepang di bulan, sehingga meningkatkan kredibilitas luar angkasa negara tersebut.

Pemerintah berencana untuk meluncurkan sekitar 20 satelit dan wahana dengan roket H3 pada tahun 2030. H3 dijadwalkan untuk mengirimkan penjelajah bulan untuk proyek gabungan LUPEX Jepang-India pada tahun 2025 serta pesawat ruang angkasa kargo untuk program eksplorasi bulan Artemis yang dipimpin oleh AS pada tahun 2025.
