Kami mulai mengerjakan konsep misi Lucy awal tahun 2014, jadi peluncuran ini sudah lama dipersiapkan. Perlu beberapa tahun sebelum kita sampai ke asteroid Trojan pertama. Tetapi benda-benda ini layak untuk ditunggu dan semua upaya akan terbayar karena nilai ilmiahnya yang sangat besar. Mereka seperti berlian di langit," kata Hal Levison, peneliti utama Lucy.
