Sony telah setuju membayar hampir USD 8 juta atau setkiar Rp 141 miliar kepada para gamer PlayStation, yang telah membeli game digital tertentu dengan harga lebih tinggi.
Mengacu pada laporan PSNDigitalGamesSettlement, pemain yang memenuhi syarat akan menerima bagian pembayaran mereka sebagai kredit ke akun PSN. Namun bila ada gamer yang telah menonaktifkan akunnya, pemain dapat meminta cek.
Batas waktu untuk pengajuan cek adalah 27 Agustus, tetapi sepertinya pemain dapat meminta perpanjangan waktu, dengan syarat memiliki bantuan hukum, dilansir Dexerto, Senin (7/9/2026).

Selain itu, untuk mendapatkan pembayaran, gamer harus berdomisili di Amerika Serikat (AS) dan telah membeli salah satu game yang tercantum dalam dokumen pengadilan antara 1 April 2019 - 31 Desember 2024.

Jadi Sony sebelumnya menghadapi gugatan class-action bernama Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment. Gugatan ini menuduh Sony melanggar undang-undang antimonopoli dengan memaksa konsumen untuk membayar lebih mahal untuk game digital tertentu.
Hal ini dilakukan dengan menghapus voucher digital untuk game dari pengecer pihak ketiga, seperti Amazon atau para penjual kunci aktivasi. Langkah ini dinilai menghilangkan kebebasan memilih bagi banyak pemain dan semakin menjadi topik hangat dalam beberapa bulan terakhir, seiring dengan rencana PlayStation tidak akan memproduksi cakram fisik pada 2028.
