Badan Antariksa Rusia Roscosmos melaporkan pada Kamis (29/2), Rusia meluncurkan satelit penelitian Iran ke luar angkasa yang akan memindai topografi Iran dari orbit 500 km (310 mil).

Satelit penginderaan penelitian jarak jauh Pars 1, diluncurkan oleh roket Soyuz Rusia dari Vostochny Cosmodrome, berbobot 134 kg (295 pon) dan dilengkapi dengan tiga kamera.

Kosmodrom yang mulai beroperasi pada tahun 2016 ini berada di wilayah Amur di Timur Jauh Rusia, tidak jauh dari perbatasan Rusia dengan China dan sekitar 1.500 km (930 mil) dari pelabuhan Vladivostok.
